The coffin itself is from the same design as the black coffin used by the other Downton Abbey actors, and can be removed with some precision. Each skeleton is carved in white, so there's little need for the usual acrylic-machining process. (See illustration below.)

The box cover inside was originally from the BBC version created by The Royal Academy of Diversion. While the BBC version of the coffin looks even better on a smaller scale, The Royal Academy did a great job creating the inside, with just 10 pictures and 1,320 words.

Inside the coffin, the main compartment on the back is made of plastic and has four layers of steel in it, and each layer is a different color. Some of this can be seen on the picture on the left, while others will be missing. As mentioned above the box has not been used by the show in any way.

The coffin has two versions on the front and back, with one front model having "Black" on the front, and the other with black on the back. Although they each have a different look (like they're white), the front of the coffin is the same size and shape.

The black coffin features gold-quill gold piping, in red, which the Downton Abbey actors used on the coffin, as well as white accents that are not seen on the coffin itself.
